Phillip Benjamin

“Tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree.”

I listened to this song for comfort. This song and oak trees have been a repeated theme through my life. In troubled times, I go back to this song.

I was inspired by memories of playing with marbles as a child. They are happy memories, and they represent the best part of my childhood.

The dark areas of the bush framed the colours. We all have choices, for the good or the bad. Choosing community and making positive choices.

Building forts in the bush, spending all day out there with my brothers is what got me through.
