My Story
All I wanted was to belong, a sense of identity,
to stop searching for the mother/ family I didn’t know.

I tried and I try to live my life as what I called “normal”
blocking out- the stories and lies I was told,
dreaming of what could have been- trying to put a face to her,
so much missed the life journey
we could have had.

Without her, I would not be here.
So I thank you for that mum
I have no need to forgive her-
she did no wrong.
She had no choice.

I have empathy.
I am not alone, there are many stories, many journey.
Behind all these stories, my story, there is also a father not to be forgotten.

This is my story, for me, for Nadine, for us.
